I have downloaded a program from the internet in order to download a song from the internet and play it in a small virtual machine (in my system). When I open the file and then open the program, a virus appears and after few minutes of use (I play the song for 2 minutes) the computer shuts down.

Hi! I've got a strange virus, not a virus, but a spyware and a trojan.
My Antivirus does not work in any way, and when i try to remove the virus, it says that it can't remove them. I had no problem installing the software in the first place, and I even downloaded a free antivirus from the internet, which I started and it said it was too short to scan my computer for a virus, even though it was more than 20 minutes of downloading.

The relationship between the methods of encrypting a password and storing the password?
After searching for the answer to my question for quite some time, I haven't found an answer. Perhaps I'm being too obtuse, but here is what I want to know:
I want to encrypt a string with the method:
crypt(passw,key)
, and save the encrypted string.
I also want to store the encrypted string, so when the user wishes to login, it will decrypt the string and compare it with the encrypted string saved in the database.
To do this, am I supposed to use a function similar to this:
$hash = crypt(password,salt)
or
$hash = crypt(password,key)
?
And then to store it in the database, I am using
encrypt(password)
in the same manner as above.
Will this work? I have a few questions, so I'll be glad if someone could explain it to me.
A:
You can use both methods. The first one is mainly used when using a single password for multiple accounts (account locking etc.) and the second one when the user selects a specific encryption.
A possible use case of the first approach would be to change your password several times a day. Also you can use the second approach if you want the user to enter the key in his application.
Also be aware of the following important points:
If you save the key in the database, you might want to protect it from SQL injection (and there is always the risk of a user messing with your keys). You could use something like $salt.$key.
You should check for a successful encryption by comparing the encrypted and the actual password. And also have a look at this question: Best way to check the validity of an encrypted password in PHP.
